"The location of the town is picturesque. Seated on the hill, possessed by an healthy air, it is traversed by the river Sacco. In the summertime it hosts a lot of foreigners. It was always considered a town with an ancient history, in some parchments it was called city. Ceccano is made up of an old part and a new part. The ancient part is situated on the hill and it was circumvallated by Pope Silverio, while down the hill the town looks more attractive […] The main agrarian production is the aquavitae. There is a paper mill of paper-rush and it owned some limekilns. The fields are full of corns, wine, legumes, vegetable and fruits."
